Little Acorns School aims to educate all children in every sense of the word. The building of peer tolerance and relationships is of paramount importance. We promote the understanding that everyone has a right to express themselves and to be heard. We appreciate their knowledge, abilities and skills and strengthen these whilst we locate weaknesses and deficits that are addressed through planned work activities. Celebrating success and promoting self worth is at the heart of our work. Social inclusion is the ultimate aim for all traumatised and damaged children and young people. At Little Acorns School we approach this in an individual manner supporting each step along the path to inclusion whilst recognising different individual needs.
All children at Little Acorns School live on site in the Little Acorns Theraupeutic care home. This enables us to promote an holistic approach within our care community to their therapeutic well-being. This is delivered through the care they receive within the residential setting and the education they receive in the on-site school, along with a range of therapies on offer.
As part of the Therapeutic process at Little Acorns each child receives a highly individual and personalised program of study to meet their particular needs.
The curriculum is tailored to meet the unique talents and abilities of the children we are educating.
Our aim is to prepare the children for a happy and fulfilling life outside of Little Acorns Therapeutic Community, whilst promoting a life-long love of learning and on-going personal development.
